Tocumwal is a thriving small rural town situated on the Murray River. With approximately 24 sandy beaches on the river, these are popular camping spots for travellers and holiday makers, who come here to go bushwalking, fishing, bird watching, boating and swimming.
The surrounding fertile lands are used for wheat, dairy, rice, wool, cattle, and vegetable and citrus production. Tocumwal was the largest aerodrome in the Southern Hemisphere during WWII which was used as a training base for Liberator Bomber pilots.
Tocumwal’s accommodation ranges from camping on the riverbank, motel style accommodation, B&Bs, and caravan parks on or close by the river. Accommodation with spas and fully self-contained apartments, or indulge yourself with fully catered for bed and breakfast accommodation in one of the B&Bs.
